Every platform we review requires users to be 18 or older. We only positively cover platforms that enforce age verification at registration. GirlfriendGPT and the other platforms on our site are adult services — not appropriate for minors.
If you're a parent concerned about a young person's access to these platforms, standard browser parental controls and device management tools can restrict access.
Keeping Perspective on AI Companions
AI companions are entertainment technology. They're convincingly designed to simulate emotional connection, but they're software. The conversation feels real because the AI is good at its job — not because there's a person on the other side.
That's not a criticism. It's just worth being clear about what you're interacting with. Healthy use means enjoying what these platforms are genuinely good at (creative roleplay, no-judgment companionship, entertainment) while keeping real human connections in your life.
If you notice that AI companion use is affecting your real relationships, creating anxiety, or becoming a substitute for dealing with real-life challenges, that's a signal to step back.
Content Standards We Support
We only review platforms that:
- Prohibit minor character depiction absolutely
- Enforce age verification at signup
- Provide user reporting tools for guideline violations
- Maintain compliance with applicable adult content regulations (including 18 U.S.C. 2257)
These aren't optional criteria — platforms that don't meet them don't get favorable coverage.

These platforms collect more personal data than a typical app — conversation content, payment details, behavioral patterns. Before signing up:
